WHAT TO EXPECT
APPOINTMENTS AT OLIVIA HOOPER
YOUR INITIAL CONSULTATION
Here at Olivia Hooper we work on an appointment only basis to ensure that each and every bride receives the best possible level of service. We recommend booking your appointment as soon as you have set the date for your wedding and booked your wedding venue as this will give you plenty of time to find your dream dress and have it fitted perfectly to you.
Typically for initial appointments the studio is exclusively booked out for each bride in a 1.5 hour time slot. During this time we will provide you with a one to one consultation taking time to find out about you, your planned wedding day and any ideas you may have about your dream gown. We will then guide you through a selection of gowns, offering guidance and advice as required.
As our Studio is an intimate setting, with seating at a minimum, we would politely request that you bring no more than 2-3 guests, however if this is not possible please call ahead.
All consultations are provided with complimentary refreshments.
One important thing to note is that we are on the first floor so if you or any of your guests have access requirements then again please call ahead to discuss.
When Your Gown Arrives
We will call you when your gown arrives, at this point we will ask you to visit and try your gown on, to ascertain the fitting schedule and gauge the work that needs to be done.
Your first fitting is generally between 8-10 weeks before the big day, depending on differing factors. If you could achieve your desired shape or size for this appointment it is really helpful, sudden dieting and an interest in a personal trainer after this may incur extra fittings and further costings. We can deal with weight loss or shape change afterwards, but better avoided if possible.
Please allow at least an hour for your first fitting, at the very least your gown will need the hem line adjusted and probably a nip and tuck elsewhere. If you could bring your shoes to the fitting it would be helpful, though not essential. The fitting allows time to get used to your gown and look at accessories if you wish.
Second and Subsequent Fit
These generally do not take so long and the number depends on the initial fitting and the desired fit finish. We pride ourselves on the fitting finish at Olivia Hooper, typically this takes two or three fittings, on a rare occasions more. We can schedule fittings usually from the first fitting and complete the final one between 7-14 days before your big day.
Collection of your gown
You tell us when you want to collect your gown, the individual sets their own schedule, not every bride feels comfortable with taking their gown early or late. We recommend your decision should be based on logistics, storage facilities and if you have pets within your home.
